62,150 Americans Warned After ‘Unauthorized Party’ Breaches Healthcare Firm in Houston – Personal and Health Records Potentially Exposed

A firm specializing in pediatric health and primary care says hackers have hit its network and stolen files, potentially exposing patient data.

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the breach at the Houston, Texas-based Blue Fish Pediatrics impacts 62,150 people.

The firm says an unauthorized entity gained access to its computer systems and stole files that may include patient information such as full names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license and/or state identification numbers, medical record numbers, diagnoses/conditions records, lab results, healthcare claims and other information.

“On or about July 17, 2025, an unauthorized party accessed our computer systems. Upon detecting the unauthorized activity, we immediately contained the incident and commenced an immediate and thorough investigation. As part of our investigation, we engaged leading cybersecurity experts to identify what personal information, if any, was involved.”

Blue Fish says it abruptly notified the affected individuals while urging them to place fraud alerts or place security freezes on their credit files and obtain a free credit report from Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.

For now, Blue Fish says it has not seen any evidence of any identity theft or financial fraud related to the data breach. The firm highlights that it evaluates and modifies its practices to enhance the security and privacy of its systems.
