A Texas bookkeeper is accused of draining at least $1.2 million from an elderly couple\u2019s finances through forged checks and unauthorized bank transfers.<\/p>\n

Nancy Black, 69, of Grand Prairie faces 10 counts of bank fraud and two counts of aggravated identity theft, says<\/a> the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for the Northern District of Texas.<\/p>\n

Federal prosecutors say a Waxahachie couple had trusted Black as their bookkeeper since the early 2000s and lost more than a million dollars in a scheme that ran from about 2018 through 2024.<\/p>\n

An indictment unsealed on September 15th of 2026 alleges Black forged checks to herself, directed payments that covered her own credit cards and withdrew cash from an account she had been told to close more than a decade earlier.<\/p>\n

U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould addressed the case.<\/p>\n

\u201cStealing more than a million dollars from a family who relied on you is a profound breach of trust and betrayal of the highest magnitude.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

IRS Criminal Investigation led the probe.<\/p>\n

Each bank fraud count carries a maximum of 30 years in prison.<\/p>\n

Black made her first appearance on September 23rd before a Northern District of Texas magistrate.<\/a><\/p>\n
