An elderly New York woman has lost thousands of dollars after scammers posing as TD Bank staff convinced her to hand over her debit card at her front door.<\/p>\n

The 79-year-old Ridge resident got a call on August 19 from someone claiming to be with the bank about supposed fraud on her account and orders to give her card to a visitor, reports<\/a> Greater Long Island.<\/p>\n

A man then arrived at her home in a black Nissan Maxima and told her he would track down the fraud while arranging a replacement card.<\/p>\n

The next day, about $4,200 was withdrawn from her account at an ATM in Shirley, prompting her to contact police.<\/p>\n

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Financial Crimes Unit detectives have released surveillance images of the suspect and are asking the public for help identifying him.<\/p>\n

A cash reward is available for tips that lead to an arrest, and anonymous information can be submitted by calling 1-800-220-TIPS, using the P3 Tips app or visiting P3Tips.com.<\/p>\n
