A New York couple has drained more than $150,000 from an elderly Delaware man by repeatedly tapping his bank account and pawning coins taken from his safe deposit boxes.<\/p>\n

Bonnie Stiner, 56, and Craig Stiner, 55, of Belmont, New York, each received two years in prison plus probation on August 31st of 2026 after pleading guilty to felony theft and conspiracy in the second degree, reports<\/a> Eastern Shore Undercover.<\/p>\n

The theft stretched from January of 2022 to March of 2023, while the victim was 92 years old. He has since died.<\/p>\n

Over that stretch, the Stiners accessed the man\u2019s bank account dozens of times and spent the cash on bills, vacations and entertainment.<\/p>\n

Craig Stiner also drove the victim to his bank, pulled hundreds of valuable coins from the man\u2019s safe deposit boxes, and pawned them with his wife.<\/p>\n

Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings blasted the scheme.<\/p>\n

\u201cTheft in any capacity is criminal, to steal an entire life\u2019s savings from a nonagenarian is utterly despicable. <\/em>While nothing can undo the harm that was caused to the victim, I am proud that these offenders will serve their time in prison, and thankful for our DOJ team and our partners in the Wilmington Police Department who helped bring them to justice and secure restitution for the victim\u2019s family.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The Stiners must pay restitution to the victim\u2019s family during probation. Delaware DOJ\u2019s Economic Crimes Unit handled the case.<\/p>\n
