A Virginia bookkeeper has admitted draining $205,889 from her employer to cover personal spending.<\/p>\n

Angela Sue Conley, 60, of Bristol has pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud and one count of mail fraud, says<\/a> the U.S. Department of Justice.<\/p>\n

She spent more than 40 years as the company\u2019s bookkeeper until her termination in February of 2025. The job included payroll and gave her access to bank accounts and a company credit card.<\/p>\n

From January of 2020 through February of 2025, she sent unauthorized wires to a personal Capital One card, her checking account and Amazon.<\/p>\n

Those Amazon orders totaled 474 items, among them high heel shoes, pool covers and earrings. The merchandise arrived through the U.S. Postal Service or commercial interstate carriers.<\/p>\n

Thirty-eight transfers totaling $139,246 paid her personal credit card without approval.<\/p>\n

She also moved company money to Verizon, BVU Authority and the Virginia Department of Taxation to settle her own bills.<\/p>\n

The FBI and the Washington County Sheriff\u2019s Office investigated the case.<\/p>\n
