A young Singaporean is pleading guilty to leading an international cybercrime enterprise that stole and laundered more than $245 million in cryptocurrency through social engineering and occasional home break-ins.<\/p>\n

The U.S. Department of Justice says<\/a> 22-year-old Malone Lam, a citizen of Singapore and recent resident of Miami, admitted his role as ringleader of an international cybercrime conspiracy that used social engineering to steal and launder cryptocurrency.<\/p>\n

Lam pleaded guilty before Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly to one count of participating in a RICO conspiracy.<\/p>\n

The scheme operated from at least October 2023 through May 2025 with conspirators based in multiple US states and abroad. Lam, who used aliases including \u201cAnne Hathaway,\u201d \u201c$$$,\u201d and \u201cKing Greavy,\u201d organized the operation, picked targets, and coordinated members. The RICO conspiracy relied on social engineering and, in some cases, breaking into victims\u2019 homes to gather information needed to gain access to their cryptocurrency wallets and steal their funds.<\/p>\n

Stolen funds financed lavish spending including nightclub services up to $500,000 per night, luxury watches and handbags, rental homes in Los Angeles, the Hamptons, and Miami, private jets, security teams, and exotic cars valued up to $3.8 million.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you build a cybercrime empire, we will find you, dismantle your operation, and hold you accountable. This defendant led an international network that preyed on victims through deception, invaded their privacy, and stole hundreds of millions of dollars in cryptocurrency. Working with our partners at the FBI and IRS-CI, we will continue to hunt down the criminals who weaponize technology to steal from innocent people.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Authorities arrested Lam on September 18th, 2025, at his Miami rental home.<\/p>\n

A status hearing is set for December 8th, 2026.<\/p>\n
