President Trump is asserting that the U.S.-Iran war will end immediately after the November 2026 midterm elections.<\/p>\n

The assertion came during remarks delivered on September 9th, 2026, while the president was boarding Air Force One, reports<\/a> Anadolu Agency.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the war will end immediately after the election because they can\u2019t hold out any longer.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Trump says Tehran is \u201cdesperate to try and affect the election,\u201d while saying the US is not currently seeking to resume nuclear negotiations with Iran.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not looking for it. Yes, a negotiation could possibly happen, but it\u2019s not something we\u2019re looking at.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The president suggests that any future agreement would extend beyond Iran\u2019s nuclear program, saying his administration is pursuing \u201cmuch more than a nuclear deal.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a lot more than nuclear\u2026 We\u2019re going to have nuclear, that\u2019s 99.9, but there is gonna be a lot of other things on the table.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Trump also says that recent US strikes in the Strait of Hormuz had incapacitated nine Iranian tankers.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re going to see a lot more. We\u2019ve taken out about nine of their tankers.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Secretary of State Marco Rubio dismisses reports that another country is providing Iran with assistance that could change the course of the conflict.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are anonymous people. They make stuff up all the time\u2026 We don\u2019t believe anybody\u2019s giving Iran anything that\u2019s changing the dynamics or the parameters of what we\u2019re seeing.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Rubio also warns that Iran would continue facing consequences for attacks on US naval vessels, saying the US was responding by targeting Iranian tankers.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the end of the day, they continue to fire at our naval ships, and when they fire at our naval ships, they pay a price in tankers. They lose a lot of tankers\u2026 They lost five more last night. Four were damaged. One was sunk. So they\u2019ll continue to pay a price for that.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The secretary also says Washington would continue applying economic pressure against Tehran.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the meantime, we\u2019re going to continue to strangle them economically.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
