An elderly resident in Illinois has lost more than $20,000 through unauthorized debit card transactions.<\/p>\n

The victim, who lived at Woodland Towers Apartments in Collinsville, discovered multiple Cash App transfers and an Airbnb purchase on her account, reports<\/a> RiverBender.<\/p>\n

Police identified 41-year-old Tiffani D. Hobson of East St. Louis as the suspect after a yearlong investigation.<\/p>\n

Hobson had worked as the manager at the senior complex where the victim resided.<\/p>\n

Authorities charged her with theft of property over $5,000 by deception from an elderly person, wire fraud, and unlawful use of a debit card.<\/p>\n

The offenses spanned from mid-June to late August 2026 and involved substantial online purchases made without permission.<\/p>\n

Hobson turned herself in to Collinsville police and was released pending court proceedings.<\/p>\n

Detectives believe additional victims may exist and urge anyone with suspicious Cash App activity linked to stays at the complex to contact authorities.<\/p>\n
