A rapper operating in Georgia receives a federal prison sentence after selling instructional materials on financial fraud and enlisting others to process altered checks stolen from the mail.<\/p>\n

The musician, Shamarri Tache Brook, also known as Juney Knotzz, entered a guilty plea to charges of bank fraud and aggravated identity theft, reports<\/a> Yahoo News.<\/p>\n

Federal authorities connected the operation to stolen checks totaling more than $6.5 million in face value, though many were recovered before negotiation and no victim losses resulted.<\/p>\n

From January 2022 through November 2025, the rapper used social media platforms to find individuals with active bank accounts for depositing the modified checks at area ATMs. Brooks often wore masks bearing the phrase \u201cNo Free Sauce\u201d during deposits, according to court records.<\/p>\n

He also marketed collections of fraud guides under the name \u201cSauce Book\u201d along with digital images of stolen checks referred to as \u201cslips.\u201d<\/p>\n

Investigators seized over 600 such checks from his residence in Stone Mountain during the probe.<\/p>\n

His criminal record includes prior convictions involving drug trafficking, weapons possession, obstruction of justice and battery.<\/p>\n

Says<\/a> US Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg,<\/p>\n

\u201cIn addition to personally committing bank fraud, Brooks brazenly marketed and sold fraud tutorials and trafficked thousands of stolen checks worth millions of dollars. Thankfully, Brooks\u2019s ineptitude matched his boldness\u2014his efforts to negotiate the checks failed, sparing his victims from any known loss. Although Brooks sought to teach his followers how to commit fraud, the real lesson here is that crime does not pay. We will catch you, and you will go to prison\u2014even if your scheme is unsuccessful.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The sentence includes six years behind bars followed by five years of supervised release.<\/p>\n
