Truth Social\u2019s parent firm is terminating a multibillion-dollar cryptocurrency treasury agreement with Crypto.com (CRO) to streamline operations around its main platform and an energy partnership.<\/p>\n

Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), Crypto.com and the special purpose acquisition company Yorkville Acquisition Corp have all agreed to abandon plans for a CRO treasury venture announced in Q2 2025, reports Axios<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The companies note that \u201cprevailing market conditions and shifting business and stakeholder priorities\u201d ultimately led to the decision.<\/p>\n

TMTG interim CEO Kevin McGurn says the firm \u201cwanted to get focused\u201d amid the increasingly crowded digital asset treasury market.<\/p>\n

The companies also dropped plans to integrate prediction markets directly into Truth Social, but noted that Crypto.com\u2019s prediction-market products will be marketed to the social media platform\u2019s users.<\/p>\n

McGurn says the company now looks to efficiently monetize Truth Social\u2019s audience and data while finalizing an all-stock merger with TAE Technologies valued at more than $6 billion.<\/p>\n

The December 2025 agreement with TAE aims to create one of the first publicly traded fusion companies and advance plans for a 50-megawatt utility-scale fusion power plant in 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.<\/p>\n

TAE Technologies, founded in 1998, develops hydrogen-boron fusion technology for abundant clean energy and has raised over $1 billion in funding from investors including Google and Chevron.<\/p>\n

McGurn is optimistic that the deal will close before 2026 expires.<\/p>\n
