Cybercriminals infiltrated the computer networks of the Kansas-based financial advisory firm Werth Wealth Management (WWM).<\/p>\n

Werth says the cybersecurity division at financial services firm Raymond James detected unauthorized access to WWM\u2019s computer systems, allowing hackers to steal client data, which may include names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver\u2019s license and passport numbers, dates of birth and account identifiers at Raymond James, reports<\/a> Claim Depot.<\/p>\n

Company teams quickly isolated and secured the affected networks to stop further unauthorized entry. WWM highlights that client accounts and funds held through the Raymond James partnership remained untouched throughout the incident.<\/p>\n

In a letter to affected individuals, WWM says<\/a> it has taken several precautionary measures to protect its clients.<\/p>\n

\u201cUpon becoming aware of the incident, Raymond James and WWM took all of the following actions:<\/em>
\n\u2022 Placed ID theft alerts on your Raymond James account(s) as a precautionary measure.<\/em>
\n\u2022 Notified law enforcement.<\/em>
\n\u2022 Worked with cybersecurity experts to terminate any unauthorized access to WWM systems and further<\/em>
\nstrengthen the security of our systems.<\/em>
\n\u2022 Secured credit monitoring services for you\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The firm says it also notified regulators, including the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation.<\/p>\n

Impacted individuals received direct alerts along with offers for two years of free Experian IdentityWorks credit monitoring.<\/p>\n
