A man in Maryland is accused of stealing a kitten and bringing it with him to rob a bank.<\/p>\n

Police say the suspect is on camera walking into a pet supplies store and grabbing the black-and-white kitten, reports<\/a> NBC4 Washington.<\/p>\n

According to witnesses, he then ran inside a nearby PNC Bank, handed the cat to a bank teller and demanded cash.<\/p>\n

Prince George\u2019s County police managed to arrest the suspect while the bank took care of the cat.<\/p>\n

Beltsville Community Cats rescue released a statement on what happened and says<\/a> the kitten is safe.<\/p>\n

\u201cCatnapper\u2019s Bank Robbery Attempt Foiled!<\/em><\/p>\n

Magnolia, our sweet 3.5-month-old tuxedo kitten, had quite the adventure today after being stolen from her adoption habitat at Pet Supplies Plus in Beltsville.<\/em><\/p>\n

The man who took her walked across the parking lot to a nearby PNC Bank branch and tried to use her as an accessory in his attempted robbery. He asked the bank manager to hold the kitten while he wrote a note, then handed the note to a teller demanding all the cash.<\/em><\/p>\n

Thankfully, the robbery was unsuccessful, the suspect was arrested, and Magnolia was found safe and sound in the bank manager\u2019s office, where the two had bonded over their shared ordeal.<\/em><\/p>\n

Now that her brief \u201clife of crime\u201d is behind her, Magnolia is back to doing what she does best: stealing hearts.<\/em>
\nShe\u2019s still looking for her forever home, where the only things she\u2019ll be stealing are treats, toys, and cuddles.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
