A major US crypto exchange is introducing streamlined options contracts aimed at unlocking broader adoption in the derivatives space.<\/p>\n

Kraken says<\/a> it has launched European-style, USD-settled Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) options on its Pro platform, starting with request-for-quote functionality for eligible international clients.<\/p>\n

Expansion to a public order book, Europe,and more assets are planned next.<\/p>\n

The new offering integrates into existing accounts with portfolio margin and supports collateral in over 30 currencies to lower barriers for retail traders.<\/p>\n

Kraken says the simplified structure aims to make derivatives more accessible without requiring complex setups.<\/p>\n

\u201cCrypto options activity is still a fraction of what it is in traditional markets but the gap is closing as professional and institutional capital continues to move into digital assets.<\/em><\/p>\n

The existing options market in crypto has been built for a narrow slice of the trader base. Our offering broadens access through a straightforward, dollar-settled contract design that tracks the underlying asset directly, in the same account clients already use for spot and futures.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Kraken says future phases will broaden availability and add liquidity through order books.<\/a><\/p>\n
