A man has admitted to stealing over $85,000 from people\u2019s bank accounts on the East Coast.<\/p>\n

Scott Bagley of Bangor, Maine, has pleaded guilty to conspiring with others to impersonate legitimate bank account holders to obtain money from their accounts, says<\/a> the U.S. Department of Justice.<\/p>\n

The scheme involved accessing and draining funds from multiple victim accounts using impersonation tactics.<\/p>\n

In their investigation, authorities managed to seize a fake Maine driver\u2019s license featuring the name of a law enforcement officer with Bagley\u2019s image on it.<\/p>\n

\u201cBagley faces up to 30 years in prison, a maximum fine of $1 million, and up to five years of supervised release on the bank fraud charges. <\/em><\/p>\n

For aggravated identity theft, he faces a mandatory prison term of two years, consecutive to any other sentence imposed, a $250,000 fine, and up to one year of supervised release.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

In total, the 61-year-old obtained approximately $85,100 through fraud.<\/p>\n

FBI Boston investigated the case, focusing on identity theft and bank fraud tactics.<\/p>\n
