The founder and CEO of investment management firm Baron Capital, Ron Baron, believes that one firm that is preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) could generate massive returns over the coming years.<\/p>\n

In a new CNBC interview, Baron says<\/a> that the aerospace and artificial intelligence firm SpaceX, which filed to go public in April, is primed to multiply in value and potentially \u201cbecome the largest company on the planet.\u201d<\/p>\n

But where it goes public, I think that the company over the next 10 or 15 years is going to be worth $10 trillion, $20 trillion, $30 trillion. And I could be very low. It could be very low on where it\u2019s going to be.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

According to Baron, SpaceX\u2019s growth will be driven by the vision and ambitions of its founder and CEO, Elon Musk.<\/p>\n

[06:12] \u201cSo what enabled this company? It\u2019s him [Elon Musk]. So he comes up with the idea that you\u2019ll be able to launch a rocket and reuse it. And no one ever did that before. And no other rocket company was interested in doing that. Because if they did, then what would happen is that there would not be a demand for as many rockets. So nobody wanted to do this.<\/em><\/p>\n

And they always said it was impossible. They said it was impossible because nobody tried. And when they did try, nobody\u2019s been able to accomplish it. So that\u2019s what enabled this. That\u2019s what enabled us to have Starlink.<\/em><\/p>\n

After you have that, and now we have the Falcon 9 [reusable spacecraft]\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n

\u2026 then we decided, hey, wait, there\u2019s a demand for space data centers instead of having data centers on our planet where it\u2019s very, very difficult\u2026 \u2026water is short and electricity is a problem. You don\u2019t need the cooling in space, number one, as long as you have giant radiators.<\/em><\/p>\n

And then electricity, which is a huge cost, you don\u2019t need that either, because you\u2019re using the sun. So basically, you\u2019re getting free electricity and free cooling once you get into space.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
