That puts approximately 23.16 billion XRP completely secure from potential quantum risks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>He wrote, \u201c23.16B XRP is completely Quantum Safe. These accounts either rotate keys or never sign a transaction.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"414\" data-end=\"760\">Recent statements from Garlinghouse have reinforced XRP\u2019s position as the core asset guiding Ripple\u2019s long-term strategy. In multiple appearances and social media posts, the CEO has consistently described XRP as the \u201cNorth Star\u201d of the company, meaning every major product and institutional initiative ultimately aligns with the token\u2019s ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"414\" data-end=\"760\">According to recent industry reports, Garlinghouse reiterated that \u201call roads lead back to XRP,\u201d framing it as the foundation of Ripple\u2019s payments, custody, and institutional blockchain services.<\/p>\n<h3><span>Vet asks users to change to more secure wallets and protect themselves from quantum attacks<\/span><span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span>In a subsequent post, Vet <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Vet_X0\/status\/2041659184983224668?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span>detailed<\/span><\/a><span> that the 300,000 Genesis wallets were receive-only and therefore their cryptographic signatures have not been revealed, rendering them quantum-resistant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>He further commented, \u201cDormant, vulnerable XRP whales are almost nonexistent. The rest are active and have their public key exposed, but it is also reasonable to expect to rotate keys if needed.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Additionally, responding to a question on X, Vet <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Vet_X0\/status\/2049794323311480971?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span> users can protect themselves by adopting quantum-safe signatures or rotating their keys, but raised concerns about what happens to inactive accounts\u2014should their assets be left vulnerable, frozen, redistributed, or burned?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>So far, the XRPL has already put key pieces in place to enable forward migration in a post-quantum era. According to reports, if traditional encryption ever fails, the network is prepared to flip the switch on a backup plan for a secure migration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>XRPL is looking to fully deprecate classical signatures and force a shift to post-quantum security measures.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The network said it would be stepping up trials of globally recognized cryptographic standards recommended by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The team is also aiming to integrate new quantum-resistant signature schemes alongside today\u2019s elliptic curve signatures, first on Devnet for developer trials.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span>What did Google say on its quantum research and cryptographic protections?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span>Google recently <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/research.google\/blog\/safeguarding-cryptocurrency-by-disclosing-quantum-vulnerabilities-responsibly\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><span>published<\/span><\/a><span> a white paper showing that future quantum systems might crack current cryptographic protections with fewer qubits and gates than once believed. According to analysts, the analysis means that the quantum threat <\/span><span>has shifted from theoretical to credible, and the timing of quantum-safe upgrades is absolutely critical.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Google reported that a 500,000-qubit solution could run some cryptographic circuits almost instantly, reducing the number of qubits required for an ECDLP-256 algorithm by almost 20 times, which is sufficient to secure most blockchains.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>However, according to a researcher, bad actors are \u201cplaying the long game\u201d by collecting ledger data now and betting that future tech will eventually unleash a master key, employing a more \u2018harvest now, decrypt later\u2019 approach. The threat at hand is still modest, but the findings serve as a \u2018start-your-engines\u2019 alert for any future secured systems seeking long-term value.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Nevertheless, Google has promised the crypto community that it will continue to pioneer the process into the post-quantum age, alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cryptopolitan.com\/coinbase-uk-stablecoin-unregulated-action\/\">Coinbase<\/a>, the Stanford Institute for Blockchain Research, and the Ethereum Foundation, to meet its 2029 timeline.
