The Federal Reserve Board (FRB) says a US bank employee stole a six-figure sum from a customer.<\/p>\n

When Brenda Fuson worked as a banker at a Regions Bank branch in Smithville, Tennessee, she stole<\/a> $327,500 from a customer, says the FRB.<\/p>\n

From April 2022 to July 2024, Fuson withdrew $323,500 from the customer\u2019s accounts in a series of transactions.<\/p>\n

She also took $4,000 from the customer\u2019s cash box.<\/p>\n

As a result of an investigation by local law enforcement, Fuson was fired from the bank on August 2nd, 2024.<\/p>\n

Last year, she pleaded guilty to the theft in Tennessee state court, and agreed to return the stolen funds to the bank.<\/p>\n

As a result of her conviction, the Fed is banning Fuson from ever working in any bank.<\/p>\n

Says the Fed consent order,<\/p>\n

\u201cFuson\u2019s conduct constituted violations of law or regulation, unsafe or unsound banking practices or breaches of fiduciary duty, and involved her personal dishonesty and her willful and continuing disregard for the bank\u2019s safety and soundness.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n

In a statement at the time of her arrest, Regions Bank said<\/a>,<\/p>\n

\u201cOur teams are working closely with law enforcement in support of the investigation. We have zero tolerance for the type of behavior that is alleged in this case. Rest assured; we will take all appropriate steps to resolve this matter based on the results of the investigation.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n

Regions Bank, also known as Regions Financial Corporation (RF), has $159 billion in assets under management.<\/p>\n
