Then, on March 15, it all moved at once.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>A Long Wait That Ended In The Red<\/h2>\n<p>Blockchain <a href=\"https:\/\/intel.arkm.com\/explorer\/address\/0xb0e8E4F2CE189D9670a462281504a008DefEbA2d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">data from Arkham<\/a> Intelligence shows that a wallet identified as \u201c0xbOe8\u201d sent roughly 14.5 billion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coingecko.com\/en\/coins\/shiba-inu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">SHIB<\/a> to crypto exchange OKX last Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The tokens first moved to an intermediary wallet before landing in OKX\u2019s hot wallet. When the dust settled, the investor recovered just $84,640 \u2014 a fraction of the $506,830 originally spent.<\/p>\n<p>The math is brutal. That works out to a loss of about $422,190, or 80% of the entire investment. For nearly two years, the wallet showed almost no activity.<\/p>\n<p>On-chain records indicate the only movements during that period were small spam transfers \u2014 nothing that looked like active trading or any attempt to cut losses early.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-887780 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbtc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/a_e4075c.png?resize=1024%2C172\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"172\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The original purchase was made on Binance in March 2024, when SHIB was deep in a rally that pushed the token to a high of around $0.000045. Buyers at that level were betting the momentum would carry further. It didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n<h2>Bought At The Peak, Held Through The Drop<\/h2>\n<p>Since that March 2024 high, SHIB has shed roughly 82% of its value. The token now trades around $0.0000063. At its lowest point this past February, the price had fallen to about $0.0000051 \u2014 an 85% drop from where this investor got in.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/x\/e4L9j0jV\/\" alt=\"\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1027\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Holding through that kind of decline takes either conviction or inertia. Based on the on-chain record, this wallet did nothing for close to two years. No partial sells, no rebalancing. The position just aged while the price eroded.<\/p>\n<p>When the wallet finally moved on Sunday, the token ended up at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.okx.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">OKX<\/a> \u2014 widely seen as a signal that a sale was imminent or already executed, given that hot wallets on exchanges are typically used for active trading.<\/p>\n<p>The Flip Side Of The Same Coin<\/p>\n<p>Not every SHIB holder has a story like this one.
