Crypto trader Micha\u00ebl van de Poppe says he believes Bitcoin (BTC) is offering a \u201clifetime opportunity\u201d for investors willing to accumulate during the current downturn.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether it\u2019s Jane Street constantly manipulating the markets. Whether it\u2019s the gamma play on options that has been pushing down the prices on Bitcoin. Whether it\u2019s a correlation with the software companies. It doesn\u2019t matter. <\/em><\/p>\n

The current valuation of Bitcoin is extremely low. There have been only <5% of the days when #Bitcoin has been cheaper than today. <\/em><\/p>\n

The last few times this happened: <\/em><\/p>\n

\u2013 January 2019: $BTC at $3K <\/em>
\n\u2013 March 2020: COVID crash to $3.5K <\/em>
\n\u2013 December 2022: The FTX low at $15K\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Van de Poppe says<\/a> that nearly every conversation he has about the global banking and financial system ultimately points to the importance of Bitcoin.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery time I talk with someone about the current state of the banking system, financial system or money. It comes down to Bitcoin. Literally just Bitcoin. <\/em><\/p>\n

Yes, price has fallen substantially, but that doesn\u2019t mean that it will continue to fall. <\/em><\/p>\n

Highly likely it\u2019s just presenting a lifetime opportunity to accumulate it at cheap levels.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

He points<\/a>\u00a0to on-chain and technical data, noting that one metric shows Bitcoin is the most oversold it has been since 2018, a period that marked the depths of the last major bear market before a multi-year recovery.<\/p>\n

He adds that when markets eventually begin to rebound, many participants dismiss early moves as \u201cfake rallies\u201d until the trend firmly reverses.<\/p>\n

Despite the volatility, the trader says Bitcoin is stuck in a consolidation range, calling the current environment a \u201cwaiting game\u201d ahead of a volatility expansion.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s stuck in a range and simply consolidating\u2026 Nonetheless, this means that we\u2019re still in an area where I\u2019d fancy buying the asset.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
